Ephemeral, Perpetual  (2019)
(Stone Found on Location, Mirror)

A series of stone stacks with angles mirrored tops acting as instruments for reading time both in the sense of time understood from the human perspective but also in the more than human surroundings which a given stack is found.

Each stack has a different story and a different scale of how the wind has weathered it or the waves knocked it or the leaves fallen on it.

“ I walk here as often as I can
The stone stacks were built a few years ago
They are a constant in the environment but are altered by the passing of time
The kelp clinging onto the rocks
The tide lapping at its base
Or the waves engulfing it entirely
Time moves differently at each stack
The light and the weather
The flora and the fauna
They all play their part on how time is perceived by the stacks These rocks are nearly as old as the earth itself
Interacting with them, seeing subtle changes over the years Lichen and moss growing ”
The rain and the sky reflected in the mirrors

I realise how ephemeral ur time here is"
