Calum Mackinnon Ferguson is a multi-disciplinary artist working predominantly in sculpture and site specific installation as well as painting.
Ferguson graduated from The Glasgow School of Art in 2021. His practice is driven by immersion in a landscape and the ways in which people interact with it; Aiming to evoke feelings of nature connectedness, raising awareness of often disregarded parts of our surrounding ecologies and cultures.
Hailing from and residing in the Outer Hebrides, the unique Island environment has been a constant influence to Calum MacKinnon Ferguson. From the beginnings of Ferguson’s artistic career the nature, ecology and culture of the islands have been major influences in his work. Being a fluent Gaidhlig speaker, Gaidhlig language and the history of the islands has always been crucial as a connection to the land and the people of the Hebrides.
